Rosslyn Park is great!!

Most rugby clubs will say that they have a great atmosphere. But there is something about Rosslyn Park that makes it exceptional. Here’s why playing for Rosslyn Park Ladies Rugby Club is simply fabulous darling…

Friends
Life long friends, a non-cliquey, non discriminatory atmosphere, good drinking buddies and quality singing create a fantastic atmosphere at Park.

Competitive rugby
It’s not just the taking part that counts! We all like winning. and relish the prospect of playing with the ‘big girlies’ in the premiership. Great team spirit, creative rugby and a desire to win make for fun Sunday afternoons on the pitch.  We have two sides; the Firsts compete in Champions league SE 2 and the Toos in National Challenge SE W 3.

Attitude to rugby
Young blood and old hands all help to make Park a great place to learn the game and develop as a player. But hard work doesn’t mean that we lose perspective – we play rugby because it’s fun!

In August 2007 the Slingbacks tried an alternative training technique heading down to Cornwall to catch some waves!  We did actually make it into the sea…..

Tours
Toronto, Leiden, South Africa and Prague, and most recently Italy (2006) and Marbella (2007).  Great destinations and, thanks to our hard fundraising efforts, affordable for everyone.

Facilities and support
The Slingbacks receive great support from the Club. Good relations between the women’s and the men’s teams make for an inclusive atmosphere.

Training and new players

We train at our home pitch every Wednesday from 7.15pm.  All comers welcome!  If you are interested in training with us please contact our club captain  Lucy on 07912885747 or email Lucy.Ross-Mackenzie@sgef.co.uk.  Hope to see you there!
